Operation: Code A (Part 1-6)
The lights on the ship below looked like a city or town that was about to get invaded by para-troopers, however not in this case. Linda and Cub were heading down first, with Cub already having his hand tight around the rope. Fox’s mouth was moving, however no one could hear him over the sound of the helicopter. Jackson signalled him to use the radio and his voice came back to life again. ” Fox’s static here, okay here’s how you slide down the rope. Take a deep breathe in and don’t breathe until you get right to the bottom, understood?” Several nods in Fox’s direction satisfied him that the message had got across successfully. Once Linda, Cub and Chloe had gone down, Jackson had his machine gun slung on his back with both hands gripping tightly on the rope… this was going to be a hell of a ride he thought.
Jackson approached the corner gripping his MP5 SD firmly. He had chosen the gun specifically for the occasion. It was not much different from a normal MP5 machine gun, only smaller and it made a lot less noise when fired. Chloe followed closely with a Saiga-12, a semi-automatic assault shotgun from Russia, best for close combats. “Chloe, cover me!” She stepped into place with her shotgun at the ready while Jackson got ready to turn the wheel and open the door. Jackson got out his snake-cam and took a look under the door. “Priority one is first man you see Chloe, and I’ll handle the rest.” Chloe nodded and on the count of three, they busted in.
Blood was splattered all over the floor as Fox, Cub and Linda marched into the control room of the cargo ship. There were only three men on stag and were all carrying AK-47. “Fox, we’ll leave you here, need anything then radio us and we’ll be back to save your arse.” Fox chuckled at Linda’s statement and jokingly saluted them a goodbye. There would be lots to be done. Fox had his rifle out, perfect for a marksman. The QBU-88 rifle, also known as rifle 88 was equipped with a night scope and was Fox’s favourite. Once any other team member radios, he would be in action instantly.
The door opened with more sound than expected, especially with the door creaking. Suddenly the only sound that filled everyone’s ears was Chloe’s shotgun, shooting the man square in the chest, leaving a big, bloody hole. Wasting no time, Jackson blind fired down the passage, before throwing a stun grenade in and closing the door behind it. They went in again, this time with Chloe first, taking out any other targets remaining. “Cabin secured.” Jackson paused, waiting for any replies. “Roger that, control room secured” replied Fox.
Things were getting worse for Cub and Linda. The terrorists were prepared now, ready for combat. Their task was to secure the deck, however more terrorists were now on it. They moved in between cargo containers, avoiding sudden bursts of fire from the terrorists.
Suddenly, all hell went loose. They were outnumbered on the deck, beginning to fall apart and become unprofessional. Almost every third burst Cub was firing was blind fire, and was only occasionally hitting the targets. “Bang!” A stun grenade went off, with both Cub and Linda immediately trying to shield their eyes uselessly. All of a sudden, Linda screams and Cub turns only to get the shock of his life.
“Fox! Linda is wounded. This is Cub here. Fox I need you to cover us while I pull Linda aside. FOX!”
” Roger that, I’ll radio Chloe and Jackson to be down there. Stay calm, we’ve still got this.” Fox was practically doubting what he said when he peered into his scope. It was time to get shooting.
Glass fell to the ground, leaving the window with just the frame. Fox lowered his pistol, and moved back to his rifle that was set neatly on a bipod. He now had the perfect location for sniping. A clear view over the main deck. “Jackson, get down to the main deck now! Cub and Linda are outnumbered!” Fox paused, ready to spring to action once he got the reply. “Jackson here, there in twenty seconds.” That was all he needed to do. Fox brought his eye level down to the scope and pulled the trigger.
‘Bang!’ The head of the terrorist exploded with blood, before dropping to the ground like a puppet without strings. ” Sighting eight targets…wait seven targets now, I repeat, seven targets.” Fox aimed towards the terrorist that was closest to Cub and Linda. He knew what he had to do. Eliminate all targets before he was spotted. Once he was spotted, he would have to give away his position. Fox pulled the trigger down once again, bringing down another soldier with a shot to the head. “Sssssss!” A smoke grenade went off in the doorway of the control room. Fox jumped up and rolled to the wall, drawing his silenced pistol as he did so.
Suddenly, a terrorist stormed into the control room… with his AK-47 pointing directly at Fox. Fox wasted no time, he had been in situations like this before. He sprung up, and fired twice before rolling closer to the terrorist. The terrorist grunted with pain and dropped AK-47 while blood seeped out onto his jacket. Fox immediately charged and elbowed him in the face before kicking the AK-47 out of the room and closing the door behind it. Fox spun around, back facing the door so that his opponent could not escape nor retrieve his weapon. Fox suddenly felt pain on his arm, before he saw blood flow out of the cut. He faced and looked at his opponent. The terrorist had drawn out his knife and had Fox’s blood dripping from it. Outraged, Fox immediately drew his pistol with his left hand and fired five consecutive shots. This would have been a waste of ammunition, and was unprofessional, however Fox was affected by his emotions. The terrorist slumped to the ground with a small puddle of his own blood starting to form around him. Fox bent over to check his pulse. Nothing. Holding his cut arm, he grabbed his rifle with his left and ran out to the main deck.
Fox grabbed Jackson’s MP5 SD and left his rifle for Cub to use so that he had cover while he moved. Fox ducked down low, gun raised and approached each and every corner slowly. Without hesitating, he dropped to the prone position as soon as he heard the rip of the AK-47. Centimetres above his head was a line of holes, ripping into the cargo container. Fox returned fire with a short burst, hitting the terrorist square in the chest. Slowly, he got up and continued to move forward.
Jackson was holding his pistol high, with Chloe as back up. Without thinking twice, Jackson double tapped the trigger and had both shots burying deep into the victims skull. “Remember Chloe, go for the head shot, they might be wearing body armour.” Once again she nodded. Jackson was beginning to really like Chloe. She had silky blonde hair, with deep ocean blue eyes. However, now was not the time to be fantasying. “Fox here! They’ve got reinforcements coming in! They must have radioed for help.”
“Shit, Shit, SHIT! Right, radio our chopper to be back, take cover for now!” Jackson put away his radio and signalled Chloe to head back. Black figures could be seen jumping out of the chopper down to the opposite side of the ship.
Now they were all back to where Linda and Cub were. “Okay, we defend the area best we can until help arrives.” Immediately, everyone got into position. “Targets approaching!” yells Cub. Jackson whirls around and puts three bullets into the terrorist. “From the left, Fox!” Fox didn’t need the warning, and had already put the attacker down. Suddenly, terrorists were coming through in every direction. Between every container seemed to be filled with their opponents.
Suddenly a loud drilling sound occurred and blood was splashed everywhere. Jackson and his team hit the deck for cover, however the attack was not aimed on them. “Chopper friendly! Move to rope now!” In a single file, they sprinted towards the dangling rope, passing the terrorists that now had hundreds of holes in their bodies from machine gun fire. In the distance, Jackson could make out that it was Bruce using the machine gun, sitting on the edge of the helicopter. Relief surged into him as he began to climb the rope.
Part 6
Everyone crouched in the helicopter as it flew away from the scene that seemed lost only a few minutes ago. Cub began taking off his parachute and sighed with relief. “That’s not wise Cub, does not mean its all over, we’re not safe yet.” Cub shrugged and ignored Jackson before lying down on the floor of the helicopter resting.
“Bang!” Suddenly, a huge force hit the helicopter and had everyone panicking. “Bail out!” yells Bruce. While everyone jumped out, Jackson glanced at Cub panicking and trying to put on his parachute again. “Holds on!” Jackson tried to makehis way over to Cub as the chopper corkscrewed downwards in tremendous speed. Jackson leapt and grabbed hold of Cub and rolled out just in time before the whole helicopter exploded in a ball of flame with metal pieces falling dangerously around them. Jackson could already make out eight parachutes below them, all like orange mushooms as he zoomed back down to sea level.
The whole team with two pilots swam ashore to a nearby island. Dripping wet, they all sat down in a circle with no arguments. Fox suddenly looked very disturbed as he spotted human tracks in the mud. The whole team glanced at him and the fresh impints in the mud. This was no abandon island… it was inhabited.
